  • Moosa Award

    Established in honor of the late Professor Keun Bae Lee, this award sponsors the “Moosa Award Lecture” held during the KSBMB International Conference. It aims to foster scientific advancement in biochemistry and its applications in Korea. The Moosa Committee selects one internationally renowned scholar to deliver the lecture.

  • Donghun Award

    The Donghun Award was established in October 1997 in honor of the late Professor Ki-Eok Park. It is presented to members of the Society who have made significant contributions to the advancement of biochemistry and its applications through creative and original research. The award aims to recognize and empower these individuals while promoting the development of life sciences in Korea.

  • Ilchun Award

    This award was established in honor of the late Dr. Ki-Young Lee, the founding president of the Korean Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (KSBMB). It is conferred upon distinguished researchers, both domestic and international, who have made outstanding recent contributions to the field of molecular medicine. Through this award and its accompanying commemorative lecture, the Society seeks to promote the advancement of biomedical sciences in Korea.

  • Sasuk Award

    This award was enacted according to the professor Kyung-soo Hahm’s volition to congratulate young scientists who had achieved outstanding research works in the field of biochemistry and molecular medicine.

  • Kang Hyun Sam Excellence in
    Research Award

    Established in accordance with the vision of Dr. Hyun-Sang Kang, this award aims to recognize and encourage outstanding research by members of the Society. It is presented to regular members who have achieved internationally recognized accomplishments as principal investigators in the field of molecular biology.

  • Gong-Wu Nature Award

    The Gong-Wu Nature Award is enacted with Gong-Wu Genome Information Foundation’s fund to honor the memory of Bong-Sop Shim M.D. Ph.D. (1926-2017), who was the first Korean to publish a research article in Nature in the field of Biochemistry/Molecular Biology in 1970s, and to improve the impact factor of Experimental & Molecular Medicine (EMM). This award is presented yearly for remarkable scientific achievements in life science that have occurred during the last 2 years. The awardee’s work should have had a demonstrable impact on the scientific direction of the field and/or other scientists by published in a high impact journal from Nature Publishing Group. The awardee will receive a plaque and a monetary award at the Society’s Annual Meeting and it is customary to publish a manuscript of a review or a research paper in the Experimental & Molecular Medicine.

  • Chungsan Award

    This award was enacted to commemorate Professor Bong Seop Shin’s outstanding contribution to the progress of the society and it is presented to scientists from both Korea and abroad who had achieved outstanding research works in the field of Molecular Medicine or who had contributed significantly to Experimental Molecular Medicine (EMM) Journal.

  • KSBMB Woman Scientist Award

    In order to empower and invigorate the research works by distinguished females in science and technology, this award was founded in May 2005. The award was sponsored by Macrogen from 2005 to 2023, and is currently supported by Maeil Dairies Inc. for the period 2024–2026.

  • Dongchun Award

    In accordance with the wishes of Dr. Moon-Hi Han, the Dongchun Award is presented to one outstanding member of the KSBMB under the age of 45, who has published an excellent research article in the Society’s official journal.

  • KSBMB Achievement Award

    This award is presented to individuals who have made significant and lasting contributions to the development of KSBMB and the broader life sciences community. It is intended to acknowledge and honor their exceptional service and dedication.

  • GH BIO-KSBMB Award

    GH BIO and this award have been established and implemented since 2022 to encourage scientists' research activities and support their activities.

  • SHIMADZU Next Generation
    Leader Award

    It was established through the sponsorship of Shimadzu Scientific Korea Corp. and has been awarded since 2019 to next-generation life science leaders and encourages research activities and morale.

  • Takara Award

    GIn order to encourage outstanding students in the field of life science, it was established under the sponsorship of Takara Korea Biomedical Inc. and has been awarded since 2020.

  • PANN-GHILL SUH's Future
    Investigator Award

    This award is intended to encourage and support graduate students who demonstrate strong potential to become future leaders in scientific research.
