Notice of Young Scientist Program (YSP)

YSP will bring together approximately 40 talented PhD students, postdocs and assistant professors early in their careers from across the world involved in the field of biochemistry and molecular biology.
YSP offers the opportunity for young scientists to share and exchange scientific experience, present their work to an international audience, meet internationally renowned professors, and thereby to promote their scientific future and career.

  • Date: May 25th(Tue) – 26th(Wed)
  • Venue: #110, Convention Hall, BEXCO, Busan, Korea
  • Registration Date: February 15(Mon) - March 31(Wed) 18:00, 2021 (GMT +09:00, SEOUL)
  • Participants must:
    1. 1) Be a member of the KSBMB and must register for KSBMB International Conference 2021 as participants.
    2. 2) Submit a poster abstract as a poster presenter independent of YSP registration.
    3. 3) Be at one of the following stages in their career: (a) PhD candidate or (b) a postdoctoral fellow, or (c) an assistant professor (or similar academic rank) who has been appointed within 3 years.
  • Notes
    1. 1) Young scientist awardees will be selected by the KSBMB academic committee and will be grouped in sessions.
    2. 2) Young scientist awardees will be given the opportunity to present their study as oral presentation and the language of the presentation will be selected as English or Korean by an organizer of the groups.
    3. 3) An organizer of YSP will be selected from applicants in each group and manage all events related to the YSP.
    4. 4) The non-selected participants can participate in the YSP as observers.
    5. 5) KSBMB will serve social program after the YSP.
  • How to apply
    - Applicants should submit the application(attached) to KSBMB email( by 31 March 2021. (The application deadlines are based on the Korean Standard Time. (GMT+9))
  • For the two YSP winners, the KSBMB will provide part of the expense if they attend the FAOBMB Congress in New Zealand.
